Food well seasoned! Best steam cabbage I’ve had in my life. My boyfriend got oxtail with rice and peas. 10/10

The hostess and chef were very friendly. This was our first time at Hallow Bamboo and we were not rushed. We had the spicy jerk chicken and ox tail. The fried plantains are simply divine. Melts in your mouth as they are carmelized as thry are fried. Yum! Mac and Cheese and candoed yams were also great.

FINALLY! Since they opened I have wanted to go here but somehow haven’t until now. I am so sorry to my tastebuds and to the staff and owners for not coming sooner. Beef patty’s were perfect, fried chicken has SO MUCH flavor with just a little heat, salmon salad was super flavorful and it was so fresh with veggies that look like they came from the garden this afternoon. The portions were big so there’s plenty for a second round at lunch tomorrow.

Aight y'all, you know how this works. I love me some jerk chik w mac n chee and yams on the side. It's my go to order to compare Jamaican/Caribbean (I know super basic, but I fig if THOSE are good, pretty good chance everything else is made w the same love. We were sooo hungry, so I only have the after pic, but I suppose that speaks for itself, eh? Overall opinion, food is well seasoned (lil on the spicier side than other places I've tried, which we loved!) and the jerk chik falls right off the bone!! Mac n chee was pretty darn good, tho I believe maybe an additional variety of cheese mixed in(I've always said smoked Gouda is a game-changer!!) could make it next level! Yams were delish, w a nice sweetness to counteract the heat of the jerk chicken; only suggestion there would be to not mash it so much? I know most of my Jamaican brothers and sisters like the chunks in there, but taste is on point, so no harm foul! We also ordered a side of steam broccoli, which was exactly that, no butteno s&p, no garlic, as is typical (but didn't say seasoned on menu so they are up front about that, and we just added those things to it when we got home, and being PERFECTLY steamed, was no big! ) My only vice? Only 5 kinda smallish/avg size pieces of chik, however they were perfectly cooked, and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience, (hence the after pic: licked clean, bruh. ). They also have jerk chik/shrimp alfredo, which we will DEF be back to try, (they were out when we got there around 7ish, but that's understandable!!) Thank you for a delicious meal for two, under $26, we'll see y'all again soon!! Oh and service was superb!! Lovely folks runnin' this place!! Was a small wait, about (13-15mins as a walk-in, so we expected that) but worth it!! Stop by and check em out!! Can't wait to try the goat curry and shrimp alfredo!!

Get yourself over to Hallow Bamboo next to H&L Beverage, Prospect Park! Delish Jamaica food. The beef patty was fantastic. Pictured is Jerk chicken, beans and rice, mac and cheese and a side of curry chicken. The family is awesome, super sweet. They let us taste their yams and OMG YUM! If ya like some spice, please try them out. Portions are huge!!!!

Hands down one of the best Jamaican spots in Philly! I actually traveled all the way from North Jersey to come & try this food off the recommendation of a friend. I had the platter with oxtail, curry goat, jerk chicken, rice & peas, sweet plantains and mac & cheese. Everything was flavorful and cooked to perfection. You can taste the love in every bite. No bells, no whistles just straight authentic and bold Jamaican flavors that made my very picky tastebuds happy Hallow Bamboo is a true gem! ????????

Me and my wife stopped in for lunch. But of us ordered the bamboo goat combo and let me tell you there was enough food to feed 4 people! Everything was amazing! Also tried the special which was the goat soup and was blown away by the flavor! We will definitely be adding this restaurant to our rotation!!

This food is so good. The Jerk chicken is falling off the bone. Went to take a bite of the chicken and ended up eating 2 pieces of it. The snapper is “Fire” in the words of my BF…bones and all. The salmon was also delicious and all the vegetables that came with the food are delicious too. Will definitely be back.
